Kenny Burrell - In A Mellow Tone
Jazz Guitarist Kenny Burrell has been known for more than half a century for his consistently smooth, cool-toned, bop-influenced fretwork. Emerging from the fertile 50's Detroit jazz scene, he moved to New York, where he immediately became one of the most in-demand players around. Dizzy Gillepsie, Stan Getz, Billie Holiday, Milt Jackson and John Coltrane are but a few of the names who came calling for Kenny, who has been largely credited for defining the modern jazz guitar trio. The recordings on this album span from his early recordings as a leader to some of his most confident, mature albums.
