After moving to NY in 1944 Erroll Garnerr (06/15/1921 - 01/07/1977) quickly distinguished himself with a distinctively melodic and swinging approach to the piano. His accessibility earned him great popularity among jazz aficionados and pop music lovers alike. Seizing on Garner's emerging talent, the SAVOY sides collected here are largely responsible for his early national and later international renown.
